On November 26, 2025, BC's all-party Special Committee on Democratic and Electoral Reform released its report, recommending a Citizens' Assembly on Electoral Reform. 

This followed a public consultation where the overwhelming majority of participants (93% of those with an opinion on the voting system), were calling for proportional representation. 

Now it's up to David Eby and the BC NDP government to decide whether to act on the committee's recommendation! 

In January, the BC NDP and BC Green Party will be renegotiating their Cooperation and Responsible Government Accord (CARGA).
